MEET KRISTEN

A thoughtful approach rooted in connection.

Kristen Chamberlain, LCSW, has been providing therapeutic services to individuals, children, and families since 2003. Her professional experience includes working in both nonprofit organizations and private practice, where she has provided compassionate, evidence-based therapeutic support to children, adults, and families. Her areas of specialization include family therapy, child development, anxiety and depression, trauma, attachment, and adoption.

Kristen is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and has received on-going training through the Association for Play Therapy. She believes in the value of experiential practices and incorporates approaches that allow individuals, particularly children, to explore and process their experiences in ways that feel meaningful, engaging, and developmentally appropriate.

In addition to providing individual, child, and family counseling, Kristen offers consultation and collaboration with caregivers, schools, and other professionals involved in a child’s care. She believes in supporting each individual as a whole person, recognizing the importance of emotional, relational, developmental, and environmental factors in overall well-being.

Kristen is committed to using science-based interventions while tailoring treatment to the unique needs, strengths, and experiences of each individual and family. She believes that children thrive when the adults and environments surrounding them provide consistent, healthy, and supportive interactions. By strengthening these relationships and helping caregivers understand and respond to children’s needs, Kristen works to promote healthy development, resilience, and lasting well-being.

MEET KARA

A child-centered approach built on trust and connection.

Kara believes that healing happens through safe, trusting relationships. She is passionate about helping children feel understood, accepted, and confident while supporting parents with practical tools and encouragement every step of the way. Rather than focusing only on behaviors, Kara works to understand each child's unique experiences, strengths, and needs, helping families build stronger connections and lasting resilience together.

Kara has experience working with children in schools, child welfare, and school-based mental health. She enjoys supporting children who are experiencing anxiety, depression, challenges with emotional regulation, difficulties at school, or struggles in relationships with family or peers. She tailors each session to the individual child, using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), child-centered therapy, play, art, and game-based interventions to create a space where children feel safe to learn, grow, and heal.

Kara earned her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and her master's degree in Social Work. She is a Clinical Social Work Candidate in Colorado and practices under the supervision of Kristen Chamberlain.
